'seponymous creatures come in all shapes and sizes, with some designs looking like fierce little pocket monsters, and others that are adorably cute, but not all Pokémonare created equal and some are just strange or ugly. As there are now over 1,000 creatures listed in the official Pokédex, it makes sense that some of the Pokémon may not be the most beautiful or cool. That said, some of these Pokémon designs are pretty bad, causing wonder as to why they were created the way they were.
A common sentiment points to Generation 1 designs ruining the rest of the series by starting things off too well, as many of the most beloved come from that first lineup. Whether this is the case or not, throughout the years there have been many depictions of Pokémon that can arguably find themselves a place on a list of 10 worst designs. Here are some of the Pokémon which seem to have missed the mark in their creative styles.

There are several Pokémonthat are designed to look like inanimate objects, which can sometimes be a clever idea and could be a lot like a mimic from with the surprise effect when its true nature is made known. Some may take this idea a little too far though, as is the case with Trubbish, who looks more like it should be placed out on the curb on trash day. Poor Trubbish is designed to literally look like a bag of garbage, which is not only a bit boring but just doesn't look like something that should be going into battle.
