The new Pokemon TV series recently revealed how the long-standing villains of the show, Jessie and James of Team Rocket, will be replaced in the anime by a duo named Jiru and Konia. The pair belong to a mysterious organization called the Explorers.
The upcoming Pokemon series will follow a pair of protagonists named Liko and Roy, featuring Jiru and Konia as the new bad guys. These two Explorers will be causing trouble for the anime’s heroes alongside another couple of characters, Friede and Captain Pikachu.

Jiru and Konia will be stepping into the shoes of Jessie and James, Jiru being assisted by a Rhydon and Konia by a Golduck, at least according to Siliconera. Fans and followers of the anime will undoubtedly be curious to see how these new villains will differ from their predecessors and what sort of trouble they will be causing for Liko and Roy.
The announcement of Jiru and Konia's inclusion in the new series was made alongside the introduction of another character named Gurumin, a popular streamer who hides their identity by dressing in a mascot suit. How exactly this character will fit into the wider story of the show remains to be seen.
The new anime follows the departure of long-time protagonist Ash Ketchum and his trusty partner Pikachu. The final episode featuring the character is currently set to air later this week on March 24.
