With the Diablo IV Open Beta Weekend beginning tomorrow, NVIDIA has released new graphics drivers to ensure smooth gameplay and mitigate the risk of any damage to GPUs. A few reports have come to light since the Early Access Beta about graphics cards being bricked by playing the Diablo IV beta, specifically the 3080ti.
Notably, a thread on r/Diablo cataloged their experience with a crash during a cutscene in a thread: r/Diablo Bricked 3080ti Thread While the comments echo many other cases of this happening, Youtuber Mortismal Gaming had another experience of a bricked GPU: It's important to note that the issues with bricked GPUs are not specifically because of any issue with Diablo IV — there have been widespread articles, comments, reviews and threads regarding the 3080ti card specifically and its numerous problems since release. While your risk for damage to your GPU is small, we always suggest keeping your graphics drivers up to date — this will allow for any potential issues to be fixed before you even have to worry about it! We're looking forward to seeing you in Sanctuary — hopefully at the highest graphics settings, in all its glory!
