Finding out how many Pokémon are in is a difficult task due to so many of them being specific to certain regions of the world or exclusive to events. surprisingly, hosts nearly all the Pokémon from every generation of the main series, other than some from the more recent generations and a few Mega Pokémon evolutions. Over the past couple of years, Niantic has introduced several hundred Pokémon into the app, nearly completing the Pokédex at one point.
Community Days and scheduled events are often the best times to watch for getting Pokémon in large quantities with a high chance of shiny variants and are a great way to fill in missing evolutions in a Pokédex. Often when a new creature is added to the game, they will get a scheduled event surrounding their debut to the app. Currently, a handful of Pokémon fromare still waiting for their chance to join the augmented reality of, but mostly the missing Pokémon are those that have not had events yet or those who were introduced with.
For the most part, almost all species of Pokémon between the first and eighth generations have been added to. But out of the new Generation 9 Pokémon introduced in, only Gimmighoul and Gholdengo have been added so far. The app has also recently introduced a new feature where it can connect with to help players obtain the Roaming Form Gimmighoul.
