Despite Rocksteady's acclaimed takes on its adaptations of DC characters in the Arkhamverse, 's version of Deadshot will likely be worse than his comics counterpart. Rocksteady's next entry in the Arkhamverse will be a third-person shooter that will allow players to take control of Amanda Waller's Task Force X — a group comprising some of DC's villains and antiheroes — as they take on Brainiac, who has brainwashed the most powerful heroes in the DC Universe: the Justice League.
Sony's February 2023 State of Play showcase revealed 15 minutes of footage, including its best look at the title's gameplay to date. A leaked image of 's menu revealed live-service-esque features such as a battle pass, gear scores and builds, and an in-game store, and the showcase confirmed that many of these features would be in the final game. This gameplay had been kept largely in the dark previously, with most of 's past trailers focusing heavily on cutscenes to showcase Rocksteady's take on returning Arkhamverse characters such as Deadshot and Harley Quinn, as well as previously unseen ones such as the Justice League, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark.

Although the gameplay — which looked more reminiscent of and spin-off than the titles — has proven to be divisive, the cinematics showed strong characterization for these characters.
