Star Wars Day is just a few weeks away, and just in time for the celebration, a new Lego kit of the iconic X-Wing Starfighter has been announced. On sale starting May 4, this Lego kit has a modest 1,949 pieces and costs $240.
As the newest model in the Ultimate Collector Series, it has a number of parts that are screen-accurate to the X-Wings seen in the original Star Wars films and TV series, such as the signature KX9 laser cannons, thrust engines, and S-foils that can be locked to attack position.
Once built, it's an impressively sized starfighter to have in your collection, as it measures 10.5 inches in height and around 21.5 inches in length. This isn't the first time that Lego has developed X-Wing kits, as many sets have been released since 1999, but this iteration is more mechanically involved and has more pieces than previous models.
When you're done building the set, you'll be able to position it a stand, and it comes with a few extras. You'll be able to place a minifigure of Luke Skywalker in the cockpit, and he's accompanied by an R2-D2 minifig as well. Sales of the X-Wing Starfighter will be exclusive to Lego's online and physical stores, and given how previous X-Wing kits sold out very quickly when they were first released, this one is likely to fly off shelves at faster-than-light speed.
If you game on Xbox or PC, you should also check out the current deals on Razer's limited-edition Star Wars controllers. All three controllers are on sale for their lowest prices yet.
