We got our first look at the Galaxy Z Flip 5 a few days ago, and we are expecting major changes from the flagship flip phone. The company is introducing a plethora of new changes that will set the device apart from its predecessor as well as the competition. Contrary to previous renders, it is now being reported that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a black panel to cover the screen. The latest changes will take place irrespective of the color of the device. Scroll down to read more details on the subject.
We have previously covered that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will feature a larger cover display compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The cover display is designed in a unique manner that shows a folder-like design to accommodate the camera hardware. However, it was previously unclear if the cover glass will match the color of the device. It is now being reported that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come with a black panel to cover the screen, negating earlier renders (via Sammobile).
Since the device features the same overall form factor, the company had to make some adjustments in terms of the display design on the back to fit the camera hardware. Apart from this, the company also wanted to increase the size of the display without readjusting the dual camera setup. This gave room to the company to introduce a new layout for the display that is now bigger and looks like a folder. Display aside, the cover screen would come in black regardless of what color you opt for. You can check out the tweet below for more details:
