The Last of Us Part 1’s PC launch did not go to plan, to say the very least, with the port being widely lambasted for critics and audiences alike due to its severe technical issues. Since its launch, however, Naughty Dog has released a number of patches and hotfixes for the title to bring it up to scratch, and though there’s still a ways to get to that point, another new patch has now been released to take another step in that direction.
The port’s newest update, patch 1.0.4.0, brings a number of technical improvements and fixes, with CPU and GPU optimization being improved throughout the game, a number of crashes being addressed, and other issues – such as textures, visual bugs, loading issues, and more – being fixed as well.
Meanwhile, a couple of platform-specific fixes have been made as well, including for Steam Deck (even though full Steam Deck optimization isn’t a priority just yet). You can check out the full patch notes below.
