Skyward Summit, the next major update for VR MMORPG Zenith: The Last City , is getting an open beta starting on Friday.
The update is going to be a packed one, and the team at Ramen VR have been teasing some of the details in short clips for a while now. They actually revealed the Cyber Ninja class was in the works about a year ago and it will finally arrive in Skyward Summit. Also coming in the update are a brand new region, new life skills, like mining and woodcutting that will improve and change the crafting system, player housing and decorating, and much more.
This next big patch will also bring PVP into Zenith , and overhaul combat. Given how big it is and how many new systems and elements they’ve included, it makes sense to have extensive testing. The team distributed Alpha invites for the patch through the official Discord recently, and have just announced that an open beta will be available to all players starting on Friday, May 5th.
Beta testing will include the ability to try out the new Cyber Ninja class, which uses both melee weapons and a bow. Player housing will also be available to test out, along with the new skills. Player housing recently got a teaser video featuring alpha testers decorating and changing their houses to make the homes they wanted.
The previews will continue, with the patch scheduled to come out in Q2, but with the open beta announcement, it wouldn't be surprising to get a release date soon. Tomorrow, the Zenith team will introduce and detail the brand new region that will be added in the update. Of course, this new region will be accessible in the beta as well.
