Diablo IV is set to launch in just about a month, and the team has announced the next developer update livestream is happening next week.
The next stream will be happening on May 10th, and this time it will feature franchise general manager, Rod Fergusson, along with Diablo IV associate game director Joseph Piepiora, project management director Kegan Clark, and Adam Fletcher, an associate director of community. Starting at 11 AM PDT/ 1 PM EDT, the Diablo Iv team will work to ramp up excitement a little more with some new topics of discussion that include Seasons and an optional Battle Pass.
Going with a seasonal model is not new for the franchise, with Diablo Immortalopting for these types of updates, and Diablo III also working this into its later update cadences. So, While we have already seen it in the Diablo franchise, Diablo IV ’s take on Seasons, cosmetics, and of course, the Battle Pass, are going to be revealed.
With just those topics in mind, given past presence in Diablo games and the general way seasons, cosmetics, and Battle Passes are often incorporated, it’s probably not going to be much of a stretch. Yet, maybe the team will have some surprises up their sleeves regardless. In recent dev update videos and blogs, there has been emphasis on how they are bringing a new experience to a classic franchise.
Following the stream on May 10th, the Server Slam event will be starting up on Friday through Monday morning. This will be one last beta before launch where you can get in, test out a lot of the game’s features, clear a few dungeons, pet some dogs, and learn some skills. Maybe try your hand at slaying Ashava to earn a new beta reward ?
