For those who have completed God of War Ragnarok and enjoyed its story and boss fights, now would be a good time to give the game another run. That's because the New Game Plus (NG+) update has dropped and is available now. Announced via the PlayStation Blog, there are a hefty number of new additions contained with this update.
If you've beaten the game you'll be able to dive right back in with the NG+ mode. Players will take their equipment, weapons (including the Draupnir spear), and skills from their previous save into the new game, so you'll have your entire arsenal at your disposal from the off. However, those areas that are unlocked using Sonic and Hex arrows, and the Draupnir spear, won't unlock until you've reached the relevant points in the main questline.

But there is much more in what amounts to a surprisingly beefy update. There is whole bunch of new equipment, an increased level cap, new Enchantments, new progression paths, and an expanded Niflheim Arena, and more.
Highlights among the new equipment has to be the 'Armor of the Black Bear'. This piece adds Kratos' cloak as seen in the opening scene from the launch of God of War Ragnarok. Its stats focus on Strength and Defense with a perk of rewarding last-second evades with a volley of Bifrost shards. Even better, you receive this cloak from the get go once you start NG+.
For those wanting an even tougher challenge in NG+ there is the Spartan Armor. Featuring zero perks, no stats, and with Power locked to Level 1, this armor lets players take the Spartan approach to their run. This one will require Hacksilver at the Huldra brothers' shop.
