The release date for has finally been revealed as part of a new story trailer that showed more of scoundrel Kay Vess' story and the threats she'll be facing across the Outer Rim. Massive Entertainment's open-world title was originally revealed at the June 2023 Xbox Showcase and Ubisoft Forward events with a vague 2024 release window.
As per the trailer — which can be found on Ubisoft's YouTube channel — will launch on August 30, 2024, with pre-orders available now. Those who pre-order the game will receive the Kessel Runner Bonus Pack, which consists of skins for Kay's speeder and starship, The Trailblazer, the latter of which she appears to be stealing during the story trailer. Both vehicles were previously shown in a high-speed chase sequence in ' gameplay footage, which demonstrated how its open-world traversal will work both on land and in space.

The prequel and original trilogy in particular followed this pattern alongside, being released in May as major Summer blockbusters. Meanwhile, the sequel trilogy and targeted December releases. It's interesting that Ubisoft has opted not to release in a similar window to maximize the Summer break or Holiday season, especially with the game releasing at the tail-end of August. In comparison, the previous AAA game, Respawn Entertainment's launched on April 28 last year, a window that's more expected for the franchise.
