Looks like Microsoft’s decision to port live service Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves to PS5 is unlikely to land the company in choppy waters, as the title is currently making a charge on the PS Store’s pre-order charts. At the time of typing, the Rare sailing escapade occupies several spots on PlayStation’s upcoming best-sellers list, including the number one position above heavy hitters like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
The port is likely to give the release serious longevity, and with crossplay enabled across the deck, it’s sure to have a positive outcome for players on PC and Xbox as well. It’ll be interesting to see just how popular the title proves on PlayStation, and whether other planned ports like Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush perform similarly.
Xbox has suggested that more titles could be converted to PlayStation in the aftermath of this initial batch, so it’ll be interesting to see what follows. We imagine titles like Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and maybe even Halo Infinite would put up similarly strong pre-order numbers – it just remains to be seen whether Microsoft’s strategy extends that far.

Yeah this is definitely just the beginning. Microsoft will be very pleased and keep the games coming.

Forza Horizon, please. (Sorry for the port beg but it seems like a tap-in, surely?)
I would get behind Gears of war, nothing else xbox really does anything for me tho. Forza motorsport has been a shell of itself since 3 and 4 imo, im not an open world racing fan so that counts out Horizon
