Arlo has consistently ranked as one of the toughest opponents in Pokémon Go since joining the worldwide catch 'em all.
The Team Rocket grunt regularly changes up their selection of Pokémon, with all types potentially featuring, so knowing their weaknesses is a must.
While not as difficult as Giovanni, Arlo will still put up a good fight.
Found at PokéStops and Team Rocket Balloons, tracking Arlo down can be a pain — so when you do, you need to make it count.
The Pokémon Trainer will be popping up a bit more regularly as part of the World of Wonders event, so it's a good chance to take them on.
To prepare you for the battle with Arlo, we've rounded up all the latest battle data – including the best Pokémon and tactics for taking them down for good.
While we know which Pokémon Arlo will start with, rounds two and three can feature different ones. Additionally, while we know the options, there is no way of knowing which one you will go up against.
So, we have covered all variations of the Arlo battle here, so you stand the best chance of emerging victorious. Here is what you will need to know about what you will be up against.
To take this battle on, we advise using either a Fire or Ice-type for Cacnea in round one. Something like a Glaceon or Houndoom will do the job.
For round two, Tyrnanitar is one of the strongest picks for the multitude of options that follow, and then finally utilise either Houndoom or Glaceon again for whatever final pick is thrown out.
Remember, Ice is strong against Dragon-types and Fire is strong against Steel-types. For a solid back-up, Mewtwo will help get the fight over the line.
It's also worth noting that you can re-pick your team after losing to Arlo once, by opting for a rematch at the same location, which should mean that Arlo makes the same picks again — this time, you'll know who you're up against, so you can make your picks more wisely.
