Despite this, Support heroes carry many matches and are often the reason a team wins. One player has shared a highlight that has sparked a conversation about the game highlighting more Support heroes in the Play of the Game.
Reddit user Jolly-Reward-2873 recently shared a video of a Highlight of the Overwatch 2 hero Lifeweaver, who was introduced in Season 4. He offers impressive healing and utility output that are beneficial to teammates. The video takes place on the Colosseo map, and the players are fighting on a tight corner that the escorted robot has to turn for a team to win. An allied Baptiste is sent off the map by an enemy Lucio's Soundwave before Liveweaver Life Grips them back and grows a Tree of Life. Lifeweaver then saves D.Va with some quick heals before countering a Zarya Ultimate ability with a Petal Platform, saving at least two players and possibly the game.
Despite this impressive teamwork on Colosseo, Jolly-Reward-2873's Highlight was not a Play of the Game. This has caused many fans to suggest that Blizzard should rework the Play of the Game system to consider more Overwatch 2 Support hero plays.
