We have recently reported about the new Favorite Waypoint feature spotted in the gameplay footage from the Spiritborn playtest at Blizzard's headquarters.
While we were only able to speculate at that time, after playtesting the Spiritborn at Gamescom 2024 we are now able to confirm how this feature works!
The new feature lets players mark any Waypoint in the open world as favorite (default keybind right-click) which binds the Town Portal (default keybind T) to a specific location instead of sending you to the town of the region you are in. Favoriting Waypoints works for all Waypoints in the world, not just towns! You could e.g.
bind your Town Portal to the Tree of Whispers to quickly turn in Grim Favors at the tree while also having access to many crafters.
Only one Waypoint can be marked as favorite at the same time. The chosen Waypoint will be highlighted on the world map with the familiar «banner» icon, used to mark various things as favorite in Diablo 4, overlayed on top of the Waypoint.
If you would rather have the Town Portal take you to the town of the region you are in, don't fret.
The default function of taking you to the region's town will remain active as long as you don't mark any Waypoint as favorite.
