Special Interest Group (SIG) has recently released the latest version of Bluetooth which is said to be packed with more advancement and comes with feature enhancements that could be of great interest to developers when incorporating it for varied devices. Bluetooth 6.0 brings a new key feature, 'Channel Sounding,' that could make it easy and quick to locate lost items
Bluetooth 6.0 was released last week. The latest version is packed with some new prominent features that could greatly improve the experience of devices by enhancing the existing features and their capabilities. While many key upgrades have made their way to the new version, the one that has caught our eye and that of the tech community is the "Channel Sounding" feature.

The Channel Sounding feature is aimed at bringing true distance awareness with the help of its ability to calculate distance with high precision. Even if the distance is long, with this new technology, the devices could detect location and achieve centimeter-level accuracy. The benefit of this would be substantial for users could rely more on the given location given its precision and could be expanded to various devices and accessories. Apple is already offering precision-finding capability with the help of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology for the Find My app, which locates the exact location of a lost accessory. However, with Bluetooth 6.0 going hand in hand with UWB, the company could really improve the accuracy of its findings. This would also help extend the support to devices that do not come with UWB
