Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2: On the Beach had several announcements and reveals at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, from Photo Mode to new scenes and reveals for its characters. However, there is still the question of the release date.
Though launching in 2025, the developer has yet to provide a definitive date. Director Hideo Kojima spoke more about this (via Okami13_ on Twitter), noting that the release date has been decided and the staff are working towards it. However, he reiterated the 2025 launch window and touted a release date announcement sometime next year. As for why it couldn’t be announced on the Special State at TGS, Kojima cited “unforeseen circumstances.”
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be available for PS5 at launch. While the game isn’t finished, it completed filming and recording in May, with the title currently in the “adjustment phase.” Stay tuned for updates and check out more gameplay from earlier this year.
Kojima confirms Death Stranding 2’s release date will be announced in 2025.
Release date is locked in for 2025 but couldn’t be announced today due to unforeseen circumstances.
