Getting married in is a long process. Players must complete a long series of steps to romance their favorite romance NPC, which includes earning eight hearts of friendship, giving them a bouquet to unlock two more hearts, upgrading the farmhouse, unlocking the tide pool section of the beach, and gifting the NPC a mermaid’s pendant. The pendant itself costs 5,000 gold and can only be purchased on the beach during rainy days. While some mods can make this process easier, gaining friendship hearts can take a very long time.
Needless to say, marriage is a lot of work. Depending on the NPC a player chooses to romance, marriage can also be costly since some NPCs have more expensive tastes for loved gifts than others. Once the wedding is over, the new spouse will move into the farmhouse and will now have an additional four hearts to earn.
