Flappy Bird is making a comeback! After more than a decade, the iconic game is set to return in an expanded form in Fall 2024. If you missed the bird, you’ll get another chance to flap away across multiple platforms, with versions launching first in Q3 2024 and Android and iOS releases planned for 2025.
But first, let me tell you about the Flappy Bird Foundation. Yeah, there’s a foundation named after the game and it consists of a dedicated group of fans who snagged the official trademark and the rights to the original character.
They also secured the rights to Piou Piou vs. Cactus, the mobile game that initially inspired Flappy Bird. Yeah, that’s the level of commitment and dedication they have for the game and all its origins.
Anyway, with the upcoming relaunch, you can expect to see new game modes, fresh characters and even multiplayer challenges. The core gameplay will remain the same, but there will be bigger challenges, new progression systems and a revamped ecosystem.

Simple, frustrating and somehow addictive, the game had everyone from casual players to hardcore gamers hooked. Unfortunately, the original game was pulled from app stores back in February 2014.
But then, a lot of clones popped up on the web which were fun and all but didn’t have the originality of the original. And now that it’s coming back, players all over will get the chance to flap through those infamous pipes.
There is no official page up yet on any of the platforms, so stay tuned to the Flappy Bird Foundation’s official X (Twitter) account for the latest.
