Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 is all set for a big week with Vessel of Hatred out on October 7th, 4 PM PDT. Update 2.0, which revamps progression and adds a Party Finder, will also go live alongside Season of Rising Hatred. Anything after that is unknown, but series general manager Rod Fergusson has confirmed support for PS5 Pro.
“I’ve been getting this question quite a bit recently, and I’m happy to say that Diablo 4 and Vessel of Hatred will indeed be PS5 Pro Enhanced! Very proud of our hardworking team to make this happen,” said Fergusson on Twitter. There’s no ETA, but he promised more information at a “later date.”
Sony has confirmed support for many other titles like Alan Wake 2, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Gran Turismo 7, and more. Implementation varies depending on the developer. Dragon Age: The Veilguard leverages it for ray traced ambient occlusion at 60 FPS. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village will implement support for 120 frames per second.
Diablo 4 supports ray tracing on PC, so it could seek the same on PS5 Pro while maintaining a high frame rate. Time will tell, so stay tuned for more details and updates in the coming months.
