Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now out in the wild, and Activision is currently enjoying the biggest traditional release the series has seen in years. With a whopping 306,460 concurrent players on Steam alone, it's enough to make you question what decade we are currently living in.
Many, many additional COD players are no doubt enjoying the game on console, but IGN used some SteamDB wizardry to put that player count in perspective. 2022's Modern Warfare 2 peaked at 263,174 on its opening weekend, and the admittedly lacklustre Modern Warfare 3 only managed 190,707 concurrents last year. Warzone 2.0 accrued a massive 491,670, but being a free-to-play battle royale mode, there is very little barrier to entry.

Definitely one of the best overall entries in the series in a very long time! REALLY enjoying this entry
