A lot of column inches have been written about PSVR2’s lack of first-party software support, but the headset has been well serviced with a hearty selection of third-party games. There’s some really good stuff on the way over the coming months, too, with Metro Awakening and Alien: Rogue Incursion looking like real highlights.
This seven-minute gameplay video gives you a good idea of what to expect from Vertigo’s adaptation of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s infamous post-apocalyptic novel. This covers the prologue of the game and it’s filled with tons of immersive details, as you drink with your comrades around a campfire and tinker with a guitar in your safe room.

The thing with virtual reality which is always difficult to illustrate until you try it for yourself is just how much texture the technology gives you. When you play on a television, you’re effectively looking through a window into another world; when you play with PSVR2, you’re immersed inside it. We can already imagine how all the little details here will make for an incredible experience.
The full game is due out on 5th November, and we should have a full review to share with you when the embargo lifts. Until then, we’ll leave you with this gameplay trailer to whet your appetite – it all looks outrageously promising, doesn’t it?
