Yesterday, we received a tip that Samsung could be rebranding its Exynos lineup and start calling it Dream or a Dream Chip. At that time, it seemed strange because the Exynos 2400 is already official. If anything, that should have been the chip to receive the rebrand, but it appears that the company has officially confirmed that the rumors are untrue and there is no such rebranding happening.
While Samsung has made it clear that they are not rebranding the Exynos lineup, the company has mentioned that the Dream is actually an internal project name. Of course, this could be related to anything that the company is working on, but we are not sure about the details at the moment. This is the statement provided to Android Authority, who reached out for a comment.
Samsung has also talked about how there are currently no plans to rebrand the Exynos lineup, which means that the Dream Chip or Dream could entirely be something else; we will, of course, update you once more information about the new project comes out.
I wasn't really bothered by a complete rebrand, to be honest. These are common in the tech industry, and we keep seeing this happen all the time, but it appears that Samsung has decided not to do so. As far as what Dream is, we are still going to have to wait and see what the company is working on, and considering how it is a different project, it could be very interesting. We will be sure to keep you posted as soon as more details come forward.
What do you think Samsung's Dream could be? Let us know what your thoughts are on this project that the company is working on in the comments below.
