A listing for Resident Evil 9 appeared today on online retailer Play Asia's website, revealing the game's supposed subtitle.
The listing, which can be found here, reveals that the ninth entry in the series, subtitled Remnant Shadows, will continue the series' chilling legacy with a fresh story, new characters, and the return of familiar faces, blending intense action intricate puzzles and the atmospheric dream fans have come to love over the years.
Alongside the Resident Evil 9 listing, listings for Resident Evil Code Veronica, Zero, and 5 on PlayStation 5 appeared today on Play Asia. The listing for the fifth entry in the series is particularly interesting, as it states that it features "new technology developed specifically for the game, as well as incredible changes to both the gameplay and world of Resident Evi," suggesting this will be a full remake, and not a remaster. The Code Veronica listing, sadly, doesn't provide any new information, while the Zero listing seems to suggest it will be an HD remaster and not a remake.
Following the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, CAPCOM has been pretty silent regarding the series, although it has been known for a while that a new numbered entry in the series has been in the works for a good while. A few days ago, reliable insider Dusk Golem confirmed that remakes of Code Veronica and Zero are indeed in the works, so the future is definitely looking great for the popular survival horror series, although it is not yet clear exactly when we will get the first glimpse at any of the games in development.
