Lionsgate has released the official trailer for its forthcoming sci-fi thriller starring Sasha Luss as Hana and Alexis Ren as Jen. The film will be available on video-on-demand starting on Tuesday, July 9.

The Latency trailer features a female gamer who has an anxiety disorder that prevents her from going outside the safety of her apartment. She suddenly receives a package from a company who wants her to test their new VR gaming product called Omnia. Despite enjoying using Omnia at first, she starts to realize that the device is beginning to mess with her perception of reality after she slowly starts seeing terrifying characters around her.
Latency is written and directed by James Croke. The film also stars Ava Caryofyllis, Robert Coleby, Edward Frame, Harlee Timms, Chloe Schwank, Daria Skyrygina, and more. It is produced by Barry Brooker, Damon H. Chung, Scott Clayton, Jordan Gertner, Gary A. Hirsch, and Wych Kaosayananda, with Josh Spector and Stan Wertlieb executive producing.
“When Hana (Luss), a professional gamer who suffers from acute agoraphobia, is asked to trial sophisticated new gaming equipment which uses AI to interpret the electrical activity of her brain, she sees an opportunity to enhance her game,” reads the synopsis. “As Hana and her best friend Jen (Ren) experiment with this new technology, the line between reality and Hana’s subconscious quickly begins to blur and she starts to wonder if the device is helping her or serving a more sinister force.”
