A long time ago rumours of an animated show based in the Destiny universe was rumoured to be in the works at Netflix. Nothing was officially announced but, according to Destiny Nerd and Forbes writer Paul Tassi, it appears the project is dead in the water.
He suggests that the project did reach the stage where scripts were being written but it never made it past that point. This was before Sony bought Bungie and as Paul points out, Sony have their own animation studios and own Crunchie Roll, so it would make more sense for them to keep any animated projects under their own roof.

Sony have quite a few other franchises that are being turned in to movies and TV shows but after being announced they have all gone very quiet. There’s no news on the second Uncharted movie, Amazon’s God of War television show was announced sixteen months ago and has had no movement and Netflix are working on something based on Horizon.
The Ghost of Tsushima movie has at least found a writer and seems to be progressing, but there’s nothing on the Day’s Gone movie, the Gravity Rush film, or The Last Guardian movie. In fact the only thing we can say for certain is that there will be a second series of The Last of Us on HBO, although the release date for that has moved considerably due to the writers strikes last year and it’s now expected to be released sometime in 2025.
As for Destiny 2, the game is gearing up for the final part of the planned ten year stretch of the game, titled The Final Shape. This will be released in June 2024, although Bungie have said the game will continue to be supported after the release.
