Arkane Austin has released its first major post-launch update for Redfall, following the co-op shooter’s controversial launch last month. The team said it was “grateful to see that millions of you have explored the quaint but dangerous open world of Redfall. Building a play space this large has been humbling, to say the least. We recognize that we still have work to do, and we plan to address as much as we can, as quickly as we can.”
Update 1.1 is now available, and focuses on improving the responsiveness of enemy AI, the frequency of encounters, and overall graphical fidelity. It doesn’t include the 60 FPS Performance Mode, but more details will be shared in the future.
In addition to enemy spawn rates increasing in the open world (with more varied foes), ADS visibility with sniper rifle scopes is improved. When performing melee attacks, you can move without any interruption. Mission descriptions and summary texts have been updated, and Vampire melee attacks have more chances of hitting moving players.
Cultists and Bellwether foes will also react faster, and The Rook will be more “relentless.” All enemies will also go towards the biggest threat in combat, which could be Bribón (Remi’s companion) or an opposing faction. Frame rate performance during the Psychic Arenas and boss encounters for Bloody Tom, and Miss Whisper are better, while particle counts for dust, Psychic Echoes, and much more have been optimized.
