Shortly after officially announcing the next major Pokemon title, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Nintendo of America has taken to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that the upcoming game will take place entirely within its new setting of Lumiose City.
“Watch to see the reveal trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, a new adventure set entirely within Lumiose City, coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025,” said Nintendo of America as it shared the announcement trailer for the game.
Lumiose City itself was a major focus of the announcement trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The trailer indicated that the city, undergoing urban redevelopment, might also involve players in the game’s goal of making a new city for both humans and Pokemon alike. The game will take place in the near future.
This is a departure from the previous Pokemon Legends title, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which took players to the distant past when compared to the rest of the Pokemon titles. The previous title had players explore the wilderness as they caught and catalogued Pokemon, slowly uncovering the mysteries surrounding mythical Pokemon Arceus.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set for release in 2025 and will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch “systems”.
