Palworld’s riotous success has been startling to see. Following its early access launch last week, it’s surpassed key sales milestone at an alarming rate, and at last count, stood at 4 million copies sold in just three days. Unsurprisingly, that’s reflected in its player engagement numbers as well.
Yesterday, we reported that the open world survival game had hit a Steam concurrent user count of 1 million, and that number has only grown since then. As per SteamDB, that peak now sits at over 1.2 million concurrent users (1,291,967, to be precise), while at the time of writing, the game is being played by 906,189 on Steam concurrently.
Incidentally, Palworld has now climbed up to No. 5 in Steam’s charts for all-time concurrent user peaks, having overtaken Cyberpunk 2077 (which had a peak of 1,054,388 concurrent users). Previously it had overtaken the likes of Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, New World, Baldur’s Gate 3, Apex Legends, Valheim, Call of Duty, and more.
This also means that Palworld has now seen the second-highest ever concurrent user peak for a paid game on the platform, behind only PUBG: Battlegrounds, which hit a peak of 3,257,248 concurrent users back before it went free-to-play, and still holds the No. 1 position on the all-time charts.
The other games that still rank above Palworld in the charts are Counter-Strike 2 (1,818,773 concurrent users), Lost Ark (1,325,305 concurrent users), and Dota 2 (1,295,114 concurrent users). How many of them Pocketpair’s monster catching survival game will be able to overtake remains to be seen, but we’ll certainly be keeping a close eye.
Palworld is currently available in early access on PC and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our review of the game’s early access version through here.
