Palworld doesn't just let you capture Pals, it also lets you trap human characters in tiny balls and then treat them like mind-controlled pets, something Pokemon has never allowed you to do.
Ever since it was first revealed, Palworld has had a very clear influence in mind - Pokemon. That means that you'll be doing a lot of the same things in Palworld that you'd expect to do in Nintendo's flagship series, from capturing Pals in balls to make them your pets to making them fight in battle.
Of course, while Palworld does copy a lot of Pokemon's homework (which is part of the charm), that doesn't mean that it doesn't have a few interesting twists on the formula, like Pals having the ability to use guns. Not only that, but you can also treat them like you would one of your pets, which includes being able to feed them and even pet them, likely saying "Who's a good thug" over and over as you do.
After capturing a human thug, a message will pop up saying, "A captured human. On Palpargos Island capturing humans in Palspheres is considered inhumane."
Moral quandaries about capturing and controlling a human aside, it seems like sending out captured Syndicate Thugs to battle isn't the most effective strategy, as they have a pretty hard time chasing down Pals and attacking them with simple weapon swings. Even so, it's a very unique
