Over the past few weeks, rumors have swirled surrounding a possible Nintendo Direct taking place this month. While we've heard nothing from Nintendo itself, February is usually the time that the company gives us some updates on what fans can expect to be playing on their Nintendo Switches throughout the coming year. Insiders recently claimed that a Nintendo Direct was scheduled for this week, though the week has come and gone without a showcase.
That's likely because the Nintendo Direct is actually scheduled for next week, as claimed by reliable insider Pyoro. This was claimed on Twitter earlier today, in a tweet from Pyoro that reads "Act II Rebirth", closely followed by another tweet that reads "NEXT WEEK". Unlike most other insiders, Pyoro has a 100 percent track record when it comes to all things Nintendo, making their claims almost certainties at this point given how long they've been around now.
Further in the replies to Pyoro's tweet, they also seem to confirm rumors that the upcoming Direct will be a Partner Showcase, meaning it will be majority made up of games from third-party publishers. They also state that they're "not excited" about it, possibly implying that it may be a little lackluster if you're expecting massive reveals. Obviously, we won't know for sure until it's here, but it's always good to keep expectations in check.
A fairly lackluster event would make a lot of sense though, especially if recent reports are true which have claimed that the Switch 2 is actually releasing in 2025 rather than this year as was initially expected.
As for what will be there, it has been suggested that the reason why we haven't had the Direct already is because Nintendo delayed the event due to Xbox's recent "business update" podcast, in which it clarified recent rumors about Xbox exclusives heading to other platforms.
