Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has released a new update that mostly focuses on weapon balancing, but also includes spawn adjustments, bug fixes, and more. Additionally, a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 event and limited-time mode also went live on March 13.
Call of Duty just launched itsWarhammer 40K event, which runs until March 27. During the event, users can unlock Warhammer 40K-themed items and try out the new Juggermosh mode. The mode shakes up Call of Duty's traditional gameplay quite a bit by allowing users to play as Juggernauts for the entirety of a match. The Warhammer 40K-themed Juggernaut suits also have unique abilities, like area-of-effect damage after landing from a high fall. However, this event isn't the only new addition to Call of Duty.
Sledgehammer Games revealed the patch notes for Modern Warfare 3's March 13 update, which nerfed the Haymaker's JAK Maglift Kit by increasing its hipfire and tactical stance spread, and also nerfed the Longbow's JAK Tyrant 762 Kit by increasing its aim-down-sight time and removing its hipfire spread benefit. Additionally, the update adjusted the descriptions of various attachments to better reflect their stats, banned the JAK Glassless Optic from Ranked Play, and fixed progression issues for the SOA Subverter's challenges. Also, additional spawn points have been added to Skridrow Hardpoint that should decrease the chances of a spawn flip.
Changes to Modern Warfare 3's aftermarket parts and kits have regularly appeared in Call of Duty updates, as they often provide significant upgrades that can sometimes spiral out of control in terms of balancing. Recently, a Modern Warfare 3 user posted a clip that highlighted the massive power of the Haymaker's JAK Maglift Kit, which should be reined in a bit following the new update's nerfs to its hipfire spread.
