Activision has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's next free trial begins on April 4, when new users can play on a variety of maps and modes. The news comes as part of the recent reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Season 3 update, which launches on April 3 just before the trial.
Modern Warfare 3's next major update adds a whopping six new maps to Call of Duty's standard 6v6 format, although two of these are being held back for a mid-season release later on. Other additions include the return of classic modes like Capture the Flag and One in the Chamber, brand-new modes like Minefield, new weapons, events, and more. Fortunately for those looking to finally give Modern Warfare 3 and some of these new features a try, an offer will be available soon that lets curious gamers skip the $70 price tag.
From April 4 to April 8, users on all supported platforms can play Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer and Zombies modes for free. It seems that trial users will have unfettered access to Zombies, but Multiplayer will have some restrictions as seen in previous trial periods. The Multiplayer content included in Modern Warfare 3's trial consists of six 6v6 maps, including Das Haus, Stash House, Rust, and Season 3's Emergency. These maps will be playable in five modes, including the returning Capture the Flag.
Additionally, trial users will have access to Modern Warfare 3's Hordepoint mode, which is sort of a hybrid between standard Multiplayer and Zombies. In Hordepoint, two teams of six battle for rotating hills as seen in the standard Hardpoint mode; however, zombies begin to spawn once a player enters one of these hills. The zombies attack both teams and need to be slayed or avoided. Hordepoint features its own maps, which are re-skins of standard Multiplayer levels like Rust's Tetanus variant, Skidrow's Skidgrow, and Quarry's Satan's Quarry.
Season 3 marks one of the most expansive content updates that Call of Duty has received in some time. With this in mind, next
