To keep multiplayer fresh, the playlist rotation is constantly updated which includes adding new modes to the mix. A mode that Modern Warfare 3 fans have to look forward to goes by the name of Minefield and here is what it involves.
Throughout the lifecycle of Modern Warfare 3, the team over at Sledgehammer Games have rolled out a variety of unique game modes. In Season 2, a Hordepoint playlist brought zombies to multiplayer, while Juggermosh saw players fight it out in powerful Juggernaut suits.

Activision has dubbed Minefield as “multiplayer, but with mines.” The playlist will collaborate with classic modes such as Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Domination, with the same rules applying to the relevant mode. However, a key difference in Minefield is when an enemy player is killed, a Proximity Mine will drop on their dead body. The Proximity Mine can’t be picked up and remains a threat until it explodes, destroying anything in its path (apart from friendly squad mates, of course.)
