An eagle-eyed Cyberpunk 2077 player has noticed a brand-new Easter egg on the main menu that has gone unnoticed by gamers for an unknown amount of time. Cyberpunk 2077 has had a second lease of life thanks to consistent updates and the Phantom Liberty DLC, leading to a higher chance that any secrets will be found by the community.
As an open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077 has plenty of secrets and Easter eggs for players to find. Some of these even pay homage to other franchises, such as the Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg that references The Matrix, which makes sense given Keanu Reeves' connection between the two franchises. Because of the scale of the game, it isn't clear how many secrets there are left to find in Cyberpunk 2077, but as this discovery shows, it's likely that players haven't found everything quite yet.
Twitter user crushovitz_b shared a video of the Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg, which is found on the game's main menu. In the top right corner, where the game's current version is located, the number will occasionally flicker to show the number 2.0.77, a small reference to the game's title. The current version is Patch 2.12 for Cyberpunk 2077, but it's presumed that this Easter egg will work on any version of the game going forward.
The post sparked responses from two members of staff at CD Projekt Red. One of Cyberpunk 2077's producers, Monika Janowska, commented, «Finally! Super happy it was found!» while associate game director at CD Projekt Red, Paweł Sasko, claimed, «I started to doubt you chooms will ever find it! Was hidden way too well.» Neither developer revealed exactly when it was added to the game, so it's entirely possible that this is a Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Easter egg, rather than a base game one.
