Enshrouded, the new game from the makers of Portal Knights that mashes up Valheim with a bit of Zelda, is the latest indie survival success on the scene, having attracted over 2 million players since launching in Steam Early Access in January. Well, now Enshrouded developer Keen Games has revealed what they plan to add to the game before its 1.0 launch next year, and it’s a packed list.
Partially decided by fan voting, we don’t have an exact timeline of when everything will be delivered, but rather a large list of new features coming in the “next few updates,” and a few more coming later in 2024. The list includes lots of stuff you might expect, including new biomes, monsters, bosses, and dungeons, but also some specific things fans have been wanting, including a weather system, expanded farming, and water. You can check out the full roadmap for yourself below (click on the image for full resolution).
“Most of these highly-desired updates were elevated from the Feature Upvote platform, where the community presented and voted on which features were collectively important. Some examples include the request for portals between servers, further customizations within servers such as nameable bases, pets, animal husbandry (livestock), and of course, the top-voted feature request: weather systems. Other features, such as more biomes and water, yes! WATER! are planned for 2024.
This plethora of content doesn’t have a linear form yet - as updates and news are released, the team intends to share overall updates and more granular details on major updates as they arrive. The first content update, anticipated later this month, will be outlined soon. However, we can confirm that larger dungeons lie up ahead.”
Those looking to jump in early on Enshrouded, the game will receive its first discount as part of the Steam Spring Sale, which kicks off tomorrow.
