Palworld is definitely one of your more adult Pokemon-esque titles. If that wasn't made clear by all the murder, rocket launchers, and machine guns, then it's made even more apparent when you actually take a look at the Paldex, the game's PokeDex equivalent that gives you a little bit of info about the Pal that you've just caught or seen.
In Pokemon, these little excerpts more often than not give you cute little facts about how certain 'mons live and what they eat in the wild. Palworld takes a much different approach, leaning into the absurd nature of the entire game by providing some truly disturbing facts about the world's creatures. One very good example of this is the Paldex entry for Lovander, which apparently gets extremely thirsty for human beings.
According to the Paldex, Lovander has a lust so great that it's always chasing something around "seeking a night of love". Things then take a turn for the disturbing, as the entry explains that while it originally only went after other Pals, it eventually turned to humans as well, who have steadily become the "target of its debauchery". We'll leave the details of what that actually means up to your imagination.
If, for whatever reason, this has somehow sold you on actually trying out Palworld, you'll be pleased to know that the game will officially launch in early access tomorrow, and will be available on both PC and Xbox consoles. Better yet, you'll actually be able to try out Palworld with zero investment if you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, as Palworld will launch on the service on the day of release.
We don't have a release date for Palworld's full launch just yet, though developer Pocketpair did reveal on a recently made FAQ page some of the things it will be working on in the interim, including new Pals and new areas, all of which will be detailed in a roadmap that will supposedly be released fairly soon.
Pocketpair also stated that it plans on making crossplay between PC and Xbox consoles available
