Palia adds a brand new romance, gets dressed up for Halloween, and adds new items and improvements with its latest update.
Step into Palia, and you’ll see pumpkins all around Kilima Village for a seasonal touch. There's also a mysterious cash register that will sell seasonal spooky goods for gold. There are nine new decor pieces, including Spooky Pumpkin, Spooky Jaak-O-Lantern, Sernuk-O-Lantern, Spooky Floating Candle, and Spooky Pumpkin Wallpaper. The register is in the fountain area.
The update also adds a romance questline for the miner Hodari. Affectionately known to the community as the Sad Dad, he's now the newest romanceable NPC. Singularity 6 notes that they’re listening to feedback about who else should be next for romanceable options.
Meanwhile, there’s a brand new obstacle course to have fun with. Access the new course through interacting with a specific arcade machine located in the Black Market. Once you find it, you will get to jump and explore and climb and glide in a space that the team is calling dream-like and is made using objects that are found in Palia. Some of what you might find include letters, and Zeki coins in treasure chests.
This is something the team is experimenting with as they try out various new ways to offer ways to play within Palia . They emphasize that it's just for fun and you won't miss out on anything if you don't want to try this one out.
There are other adjustments including the arrival of nearby chat and flare arrows. This will let you send messages to those in close proximity around you, or to signal with flares, all for easier coordination.
