An actor from The Last of Us still hopes for a cameo in the highly anticipated second season of the HBO series, despite his character’s potential death.
In The Last of Us season 1 of the highly-acclaimed TV series, Josh Brener was seen playing the role of Murray, the fascinating host of the talk show where viewers get to learn about a fungus being as dangerous as a virus. The scene indirectly hinted toward The Last of Us' global pandemic that would begin in 2003. After that scene, the series jumps forward to 2003 to see how the pandemic began, making viewers believe that Murray is dead. However, Brener still has his hopes high for an appearance in The Last of Us season 2 despite getting a piece of unfortunate news.
While promoting his latest movie Cold Wallet at SXSW, the actor told Deadline that he can make a comeback in The Last of Us season 2 through re-animation. He said, “If everyone can become re-animated, it doesn’t matter how dead his body is!”However, the actor also clarified that series co-creator Craig Mazin has already told his wife that Murray won’t be a part of The Last of Us season 2. Although it might be unfortunate news for fans who want Murray to be a part of the series, the creators’ decision to make another time jump would make his return hard.
