European retailer, ProShop, seems to have made a mistake by listing all NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs on its store as GeForce RTX 4090 SUPER.
It looks like someone at European retailer, ProShop, is either too excited or got confused with the upcoming GeForce RTX 40 "SUPER" launch that they renamed all of their RTX 4090 listings to RTX 4090 SUPER. The retailer offers several graphics cards, 24 according to Videocardz, and has put the "SUPER" nomenclature in front of all those variants.
It should be pointed out that the upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 "SUPER" unveil, which is just a few weeks away (8th January), is expected to include just three graphics cards, the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and the RTX 4070 SUPER. So far, there are no reports of an RTX 4090 SUPER and while NVIDIA could come out and do a surprise unveil, we don't have any information or indications of such a product.
Retailers and AICs have already been given the briefings on the new cards so they do know about the NVIDIA RTX 40 SUPER series but it looks like ProShop employees got confused and made a mistake by listing the RTX 4090 models as the RTX 4090 SUPER GPU. Note that all of the RTX 4090 SUPER listings are the standard RTX 4090 models and even the prices are the same so it does look like an honest mistake but it would be the first time that a retailer has listed the "SUPER" naming for a RTX 40 GPU.
It will be a surprise for us all if NVIDIA does come out and say that in addition to the three "SUPER" cards, they are also working on a SUPER variant of the GeForce RTX 4090. Such a high-end graphics card is likely going to be restricted in China once again due to its performance rating far exceeding the RTX 4090 TPP (Total Processing Performance)
