Lords of the Fallen patch 1.1.193 has been deployed by developer Hexworks, addressing crashes and allowing manual DLSS 3 frame generation activation.
Yesterday, the developer released an update that disabled DLSS frame generation due to crashing issues, and one day later, we have another patch for the troubled game. This new update packs various in-game crash fixes. In addition, the development team has shared a workaround (thanks to YouTuber 'MitoGouken' for a crash on the game's first loading screen. The workaround has been included below. According to the official release notes for this update, the developer is currently working with Epic on a permanent fix for this issue.
"This is a preferable solution to the previous workaround as it still utilizes precompiled shaders, ensuring that you won't experience micro-stutters when entering a new biome", the team writes about the new workaround. "We recommend trying this workaround first, and if it doesn't work, then you can add "-nopsos" to access the game."
As said, the developer has now also provided a way to manually activate DLSS 3 frame generation after the feature was disabled yesterday. "Yesterday, we globally deactivated DLSS Frame Generation after discovering through Sentry that it was one of the main causes of crashes on 40 series GPUs for the vast majority of its owners", the team explains. "While we won't be activating it by default until the issue is fully resolved, we've added a way for you to manually activate it if you wish by adding in launch options "-DLSSFG"."
We've included a screenshot of how to manually enable frame generation via the game's settings menu below:
The new patch also includes some other fixes, and we suggest reading the full patch notes here.
