Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is almost here, and it sounds like fans will have a very full-featured adventure to jump into, although there will be a few minor things missing at launch. According to Insomniac community director James Stevenson, Spider-Man 2 won’t have a New Game+ mode or the ability to replay missions at launch. Thankfully, you shouldn’t have to wait too long for those features, as Stevenson says they should arrive via an update “before end of year.”
No - we’re working on an update for those features but they won’t be in Day 1

Insomniac is also encouraging fans who buy Spider-Man 2 on a physical disc to download the game’s Day 1 patch for the optimal experience.
“The disc contains the entire game and is playable from star to finish with no patch or online requirement. But for the best experience, we highly encourage physical/disc-based players to download update version 1.001.002 on launch day -- prior to experiencing the opening missions for the first time.
This update features polish to the gold master version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 available on disc, which improves the opening sections of the game and includes other general refinements to your Spidey experience, including some additional Accessibility Options.”
