Voxel-based sandbox game Teardown drops today on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Owen Wilson (??!) is here to narrate the launch trailer.
Owen Wilson makes the joy of blowing things up oddly sensual with his narration. He sums up the appeal of Teardown simply: «Breaking stuff is fun. The bigger the stuff, the bigger the fun.»
Developed by Swedish studio Tuxedo Labs, Teardown is a real-time physics simulation game with fully destructible environments. The game puts the player in the role of an owner of a struggling demolition company, caught between aiding police investigations and taking on often questionable missions.
In each dynamically created level, the player must collect or destroy objects tied to a security alarm system. While the player has unlimited time to prepare, they must use a variety of tools, explosives, and vehicles to complete the objectives within 60 seconds of the alarm going off.
Teardown was originally released as an Early Access title in 2020 and officially launched in April 2022. With over one million copies sold, the game's success led to studio Tuxedo Labs' acqusiiton by Saber Interactive, paving the way for the console ports of the game released today.
