The second batch of Sonic Prime episodes is set to arrive on Netflix in July.
A tweet posted on the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account on Wednesday read: “Ready to re-enter the Shatterverse? Sonic Prime returns on July 13th.”
The first eight episodes of the show arrived on Netflix on December 15, 2022.
It’s not clear how many more episodes will be added in July, but given that animation studio WildBrain previously stated that the show was 24 episodes long it will likely be either another eight episodes, or all the remaining 16.
Sonic Prime sees Sonic accidentally creating the Shatterverse, a multiverse of alternate dimensions populated by different versions of Sonic’s friends.
The Netflix show isn’t the only Sonic TV series currently active. A live-action Knuckles series is currently in development at Paramount, which will be a spin-off of the studio’s live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movies.
Paramount’s official plot synopsis says the series, which takes place between the Sonic 2 and 3 movies and sees Idris Elbra reprising his role as Knuckles, will follow the echidna as he trains police officer Wade Whipple as his protégé.
