Bandai Namco has announced that free-to-play online action RPG Blue Protocol will be released in Japan on PC on June 14. While the exact time for the game’s release will be announced later, players can pre-register for the launch on the game’s official website.
While the company has revealed the Japanese launch date for Blue Protocol, players in the west will have to wait for longer, with the game’s release outside of Japan being delayed to 2024 (via Gematsu). Before its launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, however, the game is slated to get a closed beta test on PC some time in 2023.
The last time we got a look at Blue Protocol was a trailer showing off quite a bit of the upcoming title’s gameplay. The trailer showed off the third-person hack-and-slash RPG combat that we can expect to see from Blue Protocol. We also learned that, while most quests can be done solo, the game will also feature high-end challenges that are difficult and will need an entire team of players to tackle.
Blue Protocol is slated to have five playable classes, each with their own unique weapons, abilities, and playing styles. The game will also feature character customisation, as well as options to customise armour, clothing, and mounts.
