Amirdrassil is the new World Tree currently growing within the Emerald Dream, and the location for the main raid for Patch 10.2. A spell in 10.2's data hints at something quite significant about this tree's future.
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead
Infused with the souls of those Night Elves who died in Teldrassil, and created from a shared tear of the Winter Queen and her sister, Elune, Amirdrassil was planted within the Emerald Dream by Tyrande Whisperwind herself. The growing World Tree represents more than just a new home for the Night Elves, it represents their future.
One question that has been asked about Amirdrassil is whether or not it will receive blessings from the Dragon Aspects.
Nordrassil, the Night Elves' first major World Tree, was planted from a seed from a great tree from the Emerald Dream shortly after the War of the Ancients. It was blessed by Alexstrasza, Ysera, and Nozdormu — Neltharion had already betrayed his fellow Aspects by then, and Malygos, still reeling from the loss of almost his entire flight, had isolated himself. The blessings on Nordrassil fell away after it was nearly destroyed during the Third War, and even though the tree has healed somewhat since then, it's never been blessed by the Aspects again.
Teldrassil, which was created from Nordrassil, was blessed by Alexstrasza and Ysera, but not by Nozdormu, whose blessing gave the Night Elves their immortality.
Now, a new spell on the 10.2 PTR suggests blessings involving the Dragon Aspects and World Tree will play a significant role in Amirdrassil's future — but in a surprising twist, it does not seem that the Aspects are blessing the tree, but rather the other way around!
