With Patch 11.0.5 launching this week, we want to take a look at some of the Mythic+ data for Patch 11.0.2. This data is collected from Raider.io's Mythic+ Rankings.
First, let's look at what keys players are doing.
This data was collected on October 21st and will have some deviation from the final results of the Season.
The most popular key is +2, which is likely inflated by all keys starting +2 for a character. After that, the next keys that are most done are +4 and +7. +4 is when you start earning Runed Harbinger Crest, while +7 is when you start earning Hero Track loot at the end of the key.
After that, +5 and +6 keys are also popular, but likely because there is not a lot of difference between them and +4, so players naturally just continue the climb there.
Beyond that, there's a slight drop, but +8 and +9 keys are still popular, with over 2.5 million characters doing each difficulty. With recent changes, +8 and higher keys now award Gilded Harbinger Crest, but this is a recent change, so it is unsure if this impacts participation for the whole patch cycle.
While harder, a significant number of players still do +10 keys. +10 is the final gear breakpoint, giving Myth track gear to vault slots completed at this level. Beyond +10, however, there is a massive drop. There are still about 611.000 characters completing keys at +11, almost a 75% reduction from +10. At +12, this number drops to about 104,000, a drop of over 80% compared to the number of characters running +11s and a 95% drop compared to characters running +10s.
While not pictured in the chart, the Mythic+ population is about 17,823,000 unique characters that ran at least one key during Patch 11.0.2. This means that less than 3.44% of the Mythic+ population completed a +11 or higher key during Patch 11.0.2. While about 11.9% of the population that runs M+ obtained a Myth track Vault slot from Mythic+.
