Free Warframe 1999 Prequel Comic Takes Us into the Origin of the Protoframes
mmorpg.comIf you're looking forward to Warframe: 1999, you might want to take a look at the brand new free prequel comic out today.
The comic is a collaboration between Digital Extremes, written by Cam Rogers, and Warframe community artist, Karu. In the 33-page comic, you'll get to learn about the origins of the Protoframes, who were subject to the experiments of one Albrecht Entrati. The tale told here takes us into how the lives of these six misfits were affected by Entrati’s work, and show how they decide to unite after their experiences. Among them is Warframe: 1999 protagonist, Arthur.
The comic is designed as a bridge to the new content, following the in-game demo within Warframe already and the Höllvania Central Mall hub. if you don't read the comic, you won't be missing anything vital to your upcoming playthrough of 1999, but since it is available for free, you might as well immerse yourself in this prequel story for a little while.
We should also prep for some surprises at The Game Awards, which will be on December 12th. Not only will we learn about the release date, there will be a free Twitch Drop for tuning into at least 30 consecutive minutes – Nyx, the manipulator of minds.
To mark the release of the comic, Digital Extremes is also releasing a free decoration item that will let you splash the comic book cover art on your in-game landing crafts. That’s now on the marketplace. If you’re into painting miniature figures, the team is also providing 3D models of all of the Protoframes that you can print and paint if you want.
