Diablo 4’s latest Campfire Chat took place this week and Blizzard used the opportunity to put the spotlight on the upcoming Season 6 mid season patch and answer a number of questions from the community.
The mid season patch is set to roll out next week and patch notes will be made available this Friday. A follow up stream is scheduled for next week that will focus on the 2.1 Patch set to the hit D4’s Public Test Realm following the release of the mid season update.
One of the surprising (or not surprising, depending on your POV) announcements made during the stream was that Blizzard is not planning to nerf the wildly overplayed Spiritborn class that is far outperforming the base game’s classes this season.
Blizzard’s argument is that players like feeling strong and that they can “break” the game so what the team plans to do is to fix a number of the Spiritborn’s bugs that are contributing to its outsized performance and then bring up the game’s base classes to match the bugfixed Spiritborn. This sounds reasonable.
Blizzard also discussed a number of buffs to classes coming in the mid season update and even Spiritborn got some love for some of its more underused skills.
Lastly, those of you out there who stubbornly refused to complete their Altar of Lilith collection will be happy to know that Blizzard will be dropping a ‘Welcome Back’ boost that will grant players gear and auto complete their Altars of Lilith collection task free of charge.
